PRESIDENT BUSH URGED TO SEEK RELEASE OF
350 MONTAGNARD DEGAR PRISONERS DURING THE APEC SUMMIT
|

BACKGROUND: The
indigenous Montagnard Degar Peoples have
suffered decades of persecution by the Vietnamese
communist government, namely; confiscation
of their ancestral lands, Christian religious
repression, torture, killings and imprisonment.
This week from 17 November 2006 President
George Bush is scheduled to attend the Asian
Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit
in Hanoi, Vietnam. To date over 350 Degar
prisoners remain in Vietnamese prisons for
merely standing up for their human rights,
for spreading Christianity or for fleeing
to Cambodia. Below are just two of the Montagnard
Degar Prisoners held in Hanoi’s brutal
prisons should be released immediately.
